The law cannot be mastered in a single reading. Every section and article requires patience to understand. It takes months, sometimes even years. And we have plenty of reasons why we want to understand the law. Some people memorize the law to grasp its provisions, and if you're a future lawyer, it's to pass the exam.

But I am no scholar, and I’m not studying you to pass the test because you are the kind of law that cannot be mastered through readings and recitation alone. It takes several months and years to study you. And just like my studies of the law, I would spend sleepless nights trying to understand you, because if you were the law, then you would be the only thing I would never grow tired of studying.

But you probably won't know how well I've studied you. In every smile, posture, and even the color of your eyes. Maybe you'll never know how many years I've spent trying to fully understand you. All the things you like or dislike. Your favorite food, color, movie, or perhaps your favorite artist or music. Because even to the edges of your vision, I am hard to see. Is it because I lack substance or perhaps you simply cannot see me no matter how hard you try?

Being your silent scholar is simply enough for me.

Because studying you deeply, like a law, is not something I do in exchange for something. I do not expect anything in return. All I know is that I won't get tired of understanding every part of you, even the things I couldn't find answers or meanings to. No matter how difficult or deep, I am willing to go back to the beginning of the page and ready to read repeatedly until I understand everything about you.

Because if you were the law, then maybe you are also the only thing I would willingly spend a lifetime interpreting. I am more a reader than a watcher. It's not enough for me to just see your face. It's not enough for me to just know the things you like or dislike. For like a law, I am ready to know you more deeply and wholly. No matter how many years it takes.
