Gone were the days the lone light used to flicker, The one and only in the street. Even the dying fireflies could remember How, with one light, everything was lit. But the dooming time came to take the light away; What once shone brightly had started to fade. And it went ever so quietly, like it had never glowed. People would only then forget as the time had quickly flown. Gently I asked the light that had died. I told her, "You left so suddenly; I wonder why..." The dead light, now a shadow, paused at my words. She let out a tear never seen by the world. She sobbed, "I had no idea a single soul cared. But since you asked, I am sorry I had left. I used to dance so brightly in the night, And there came the rain, but it didn't take my light." I leaned in closer, my eyebrow now raised. I asked her, "How hard did it rain?" The shadow said, "Just hard enough for them to not notice I've died. Just loud enough for them to not hear my cries." For a moment, I couldn't understand, but slowly, I did. This revelation sent shocks all over me. The light that seemed to dance did not do so joyfully; She flickered for help, but without luck, gave up tragically.
